Ashley 18months old

She is officially 18months old - HOLY COW where has the time gone! She weighed 21.7lbs and 33.5in tall. She is a tall petite one and so full of life! The doctor always says how cute and social she is, and this visit she talked his ear off - it was too cute! We were very thankful to only have 1 shot this visit. She is a tough cookie and doesn't really mind the actual shot, just HATES them holding her down to administer the shot!

Milestone update. . .
She will point to things you ask of her in books, she will find a puppy or kitty, etc on certain pages. She will also tell you what you point to by using her words!

She will follow simple commands and amazes us everyday of how much she understands when we're talking! We have to start spelling certain things so she won't run to the door to go for a "walk" if we use that in a sentence or conversation! She is really way too smart and we are having a blast!

She can point to the clouds and when you ask her "Ashley where are the clouds?" She looks up, points to the sky and then flails her arms/hands around to show the rain, hahahaha! That's what she had seen a lot of lately and it's wonderful to see her make those correlations!

She loves to make animal sounds and can't dance enough! She hears music anywhere and we have to stop and dance! Too cute! :)

She seems way ahead for her age and continues to surprise us more and more everyday! She has started climbing on all furniture with someone close by. Loves climbing up and down the stairs on her own and feels like such a "big" girl when she reaches her goal!

A few words she says. . .
peeze = please
tanks = thanks
maaaaaa = mommy I need you
ma ma = i have something to show you
da = daddy where are you
pa = daddy (don't know where this came from, but it's hilarious)
ditty = kitty
up = up
hi
bye
gaMAAA = grandma
weeeee = fun whether on the slide, or swing, wagon, or if she see's someone else having fun
no = no, but in a very nice way when you ask if she wants something
pitzza = Pizza
dooze = juice
shooze = shoes (one of her favorite words)
tees = trees
ushes = bushes
sheshus Jesus
Cheese = smile for pictures with scrunched up face!
**She has started putting words together and forming more sentences. More and more comes everyday!

She prays with us before meals and before bedtime! She loves to tell Jesus she loves him and claps when we say "Amen" and are finished with prayers! It's so adorable and I love that she looks forward to this time!

I have to say, she has started some "fits" here and there and boy are they a treat! I'd really love for this stage to be over and to get my little angel back! tee hee hee

She loves to give high-fives and loves to celebrate when she does something good (example: bowling - she knocks the pins over.) She gives the BEST hugs and kisses in the world! She has blown kisses for a long, long time, but loves to give you a real kiss on the lips with a "kiss sound"! I LOVE IT! ! ! :)

We are so impressed with how smart she is - she has been a sponge since she was itty-bitty! I've had a lot of favorite stages in her life, but I have to say this has been my favorite by far! She is becoming such a "big girl"!

Here are some cute pics of our goof-ball waiting for the nurse with her shot!

2 Boo Boo's in 1 weekend

Ashley had a rough weekend a while back (March 21)! She hasn't been very accident prone at all (which Mommy really appreciates) but this weekend we had two big boo boo's!

She was sitting with daddy (on his legs)at the kitchen table and decided to stand right up while under the tabletop. She instantly had a pretty good bruise! Seriously our first real "accident related" bruise in 17months of life!

A little hard to see, but it was purple and a pretty bad one

Then that night, she was playing in her kitchen wearing a pair of mommy's flip-flops and tripped and fell right into the corner of one of the boxes she uses in her kitchen! I saw it happening from behind and was just praying she missed her right eye - she just missed it! She cried pretty good and it was instantly red and had more of a "rug burn" look to it! She is getting so big, she didn't fight me putting ice on it! We are so thankful this was the extent of her injury - could have been worse!

Still laughing!

New Sandbox and Bike Seat

We got Ashley her first sandbox and it has a picnic table and umbrella attached! She had a blast helping Daddy put it together and couldn't wait to use her sand toys from the beach! :)

Don't mind our yard in these pictures! We've had a lot of rain and now have a lush, green, clover patch backyard! That is what we're working on this weekend! :) hahaha

We also finally got Ashley a bike seat so we can go on bike rides and enjoy the great weather! She has loved being outside since she was born. We go on daily morning walks in the stroller and then usually a wagon ride or "cozy coupe" ride around the neighborhood when Daddy gets home! Now we can go for a longer ride on our bikes! She loves the fresh air and is usually waving at everyone who drives or walks by! She sings and dances and says "weeeee" while we're riding! It makes for some great time together and we are loving this nice weather before it gets too hot! :)

We bought her a bike helmet, but it is still too big for her little head - even though it is an infant one! It's obviously not doing any good, so she's used to wearing her little hats when outside, so that will work for now! :) She's always been so good about knowing she has to have a hat on to go outside, we're so thankful for that!

Working with Daddy is hard and I'm starving! Today's lunch menu. . . mac & cheese, yogurt, blk beans, and apple slices - what a great eater!

Hoping for a patio and backyard landscape soon, then she'll be in the shade for sure!
