Daddy's closet project

We had been looking to purchase a new closet system with shelving for our master closet, and were blown away at how expensive they can run! So, Kevin decided to take on his first BIG project and save us a ton of money!

Growing up with my dad building all kinds of things around our house, this was a fun project for us and we have so much fun using my dad's old tools!  We only had to call Dad (Dale) for one "saw blade" question, so that is pretty impressive!  :)

We have a huge walk-in master closet in the shape of a "U".  So we removed the far left side's hanging clothing bar that the builder had built in and did almost floor to ceiling shelving for shoes and clothes!  Kev used a shelf-pin jig to drill holes so we could have adjustable shelves for my different height shoes!   We kept the other two sides of our closet the hanging bars at different heights from the builder!  So Kev has a wall of clothes, I have a wall of clothes and we share the shoe/pant shelves!  It was a nice and super hot weekend, but Ashley was a great helper and we all had fun!  I am so proud of Kevin he did AWESOME work and we both have a list of "to-do" projects we want to take on now! :) hahaha

Here are a few pictures of the project. . .

Watching as we unload all the boards and materials, she is so ready to help with the painting!

Ashley's 3rd Birthday

We can not believe another year has gone by and our little Bug-a-boo is 3 years old! :)  She has grown into the most polite, smart, hilarious, beautiful little girl and we are beyond blessed to have her in our lives!  At her 3 year old Dr's appointment she was 35.5 in tall, and weighed 26lbs; perfect in every way he said!

She has started to look older and older each day, and certain outfits with her hair all curled, make her look too old (poor Daddy see's his little girl growing up way too fast)! :)  We have loved watching her continue to learn more each day and her imagination to play is amazing!

Ashley spends most of her days dancing, singing, and playing "pretend" store, restaurant, and she can't get enough of arts and crafts!

We had a laid back birthday this year, and she had a blast!  We went with a safari theme, because she loves her safari animals and it turned out super cute!  This birthday was no different than any other year, she took her time opening her gifts and loved playing with each and every one! :)  She still doesn't care for cake/cupcakes, so her birthday girl highlight was "mini ice cream cones"!

Here are some pictures to show how old she looks, her fun presents, and all the fun she had! :)

Jen (aka "Geesh) and Jeremiah came over with presents too!

"Geesh" had to play "store" too!

TJ, Tesha, and Maddie (aka MiMi) came the next night for Pizza and birthday fun
The girls playing XBOX Kinect!  They are adorable running track and bowling together
It has been so much fun, watching/sharing in our girls growing up!  We've been together since they were born, and they have such a great friendship! :)

Pizza Making

Ashley loves to help mommy cook, and what better than what she loves to eat, PIZZA! :)  She loved rolling out her dough and smearing the sauce.  She could have sprinkled cheese all night! haha

Intel expanding

Ashley loves going to visit Daddy at work, and right now they are building a MASSIVE fab building (where chips are built) for more amazing work to be done at INTEL.  Daddy took Ash over to show her all the awesome cranes they have on site from around the world!  She was so impressed and could have stood there all day; too bad it is still in the 100's around here! :)
