Nana J and Randy visit

We were so excited that Nana J and Randy could come visit from West Virgina! They were headed up to Sedona for a work conference so it was a quick visit, but we enjoyed every minute of it! :) They were anxious to get out of WV away from the snow and rain, arrived here to pouring rain and a quick snow up in Sedona! hahaha Gotta love our Arizona weather! :)

Ashley had a great time showing Nana J all her books and they both cooked like crazy in AshB's kitchen! :)

Take a look at the fun we had! We are so thankful for the time we were able to share!

Ashley's 1st Haircut (Feb 8)

Well it was finally time for Ashley to get her first real haircut! She has had a full head of hair since she was born and never lost it! She had a fabulous bald spot on the back of her head when she was younger and since than it has grown in fuller than ever! Grandma had helped me "trim" her bangs since she was younger but this time we needed an expert!

We went to Cool Cuts 4 Kids and it was a MUCH better experience than I was expecting! I'm not going to lie, I was really nervous and asked Grandma to come along in case we had a nervous breakdown, I'd have some backup! Ashley did GREAT! They have adorable little cars to put them in for the cutting process and TV's with movies at each station. It was just enough to keep her calm and distracted, I think she loved it as much as her Cozy Coupe!

She was a little hesitant at first because they sprayed her hair with a water bottle which we've never done, so it was cold and new. She really enjoyed her stylist who was very friendly and did a great job talking with her and keeping her still!

We aimed for a bang trim and if she did well, we'd trim the rest of the baby hair off. I'm not sure what her hairstyle will be, but we needed to get off that old frazzled baby hair! She did so well, she ended up with a full haircut! I was so proud of her and of course George was there to help us feel comfortable! He is always there when she needs him - it's too cute!

Since it was her first haircut they gave us a keepsake card and taped her trimmed hair in it! We didn't even have to ask, they were wonderful!

So overall it was a great experience and of course Mommy was nervous for nothing! She is such an amazing little girl and it made me cry to think my baby had her 1st real haircut! Her new cut makes her look so old! :)

In her car and ready to go

Help me Georgie, I'm a little scared!

Helping Decorate for Valentine's Day

Ashley loves to be where the action is and this was the perfect job for her! I miss decorating my classroom, so I've been decorating around the house for each holiday with all my classroom decorations!

Ashley loves helping, so I let her add the window-clings to our slider! It's too cute because they are at her height and she kisses the kitty's everyday! She's too fun! :)

Zoo day with Daddy

So we had such a great day at the Phoenix Zoo! Sad but true, Kevin had never been to the PHX Zoo until we went to Zoo lights the beginning of January! He couldn't see much because it was dark, so we were anxious to get back!

Ashley has always loved animals, but lately loves learning new animal sounds and tries to act like the animal! Truly hilarious! :) She loves to make a monkey sound, a birdie, a lion and she's interested in "hooting" like an owl this week! :)

She was in amazement most of the day and we tried to capture that in some photos! We had a great day and love sharing in these special moments as a family! :)

**To view all photos click on the photo/slideshow window and it will open a new window, where you can view all the pictures and text under each picture! To see the pictures in order you can click "view all" in the upper left hand corner of the new page.**

Milestone update. . .

Will point to things you ask of her in books, she will find a puppy or kitty, etc on certain pages.

She will follow simple commands and amazes us everyday of how much she understands when we're talking! We have to start spelling certain things so she won't run to the door to go for a "walk" if we use that in a sentence or conversation! She is really way too smart and we are having a blast!

She can point to the clouds and when you ask her "Ashley where are the clouds?" She looks up and points to the sky and then flails her arms/hands around to show the rain, hahahaha! That's what she's seen a lot of lately and it's wonderful to see her make those correlations!

Words she is currently saying. . .
peeze = please
tanks = thanks
maaaaaa = mommy I need you
ma ma = i have something to show you
da = daddy where are you
ditty = kitty
up = up
hi
bye
gaMAAA = grandma
weeeee
no = no, but in a very nice way when you ask if she wants something
Cheese = smile for pictures with scrunched up face!
