Red day at preschool

Each month they focus on a color and each week they learn a new letter and number!  One day each month is "color day" where they all wear whatever the color for the month is. . .

August is RED. . .

Loving Lambs class in their RED.
The kiddos go to chapel twice a month.  So for AshB's class and 2 other preschool classes, that is the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month!  It is a quick 5-20min chapel with songs, a lesson, and prayer and the kiddos absolutely love it! :)

"All About Me" preschool project

Within the first full week of school, the kiddos were sent home with a brown lunch bag and were told to fill it with things they love and things that describe them.

Ashley walked all around the house, and it was hilarious watching her try to stuff certain things into this brown bag!  So, we worked really hard to find the items she wanted to share, but in a smaller more compact size!  She was so proud of all of her items and did a great job "sharing each item with her class."

Ashley's items include. . .
Orange microphone - of course its her favorite color, and she loves to sing, and its from one of her
favorite shows "Sid the Science Kid"

Tape measure - she loves to wear her toolbelt and help daddy around the house.  It's also from her
Home Depot toolbox, and she loves to go the first Saturday of each month to work with
daddy at Home Depot for kiddo craft day!

Baby bottle - she loves her baby doll "Stella" and she loves to play baby/mommy!

Baby Georgie - She was given her Curios George doll from Dada Papa on her first Christmas (at
3months old) and he has been on every vacation, to every Dr's appointment, and anything
and everything in between.  Well Georgie was too big for our bag, so we put "Baby
                      George" in instead! :)

Rainbow Ribbon - is one of her award ribbons from her swim class.  She is so proud of all she has
mastered in swim class - she is quiet a little fishy and we are oh' so proud of her! :)

Playdoh - She loves her playdoh fun

Green "Pray" Bracelet - she wanted to put this in because she loves to wear jewlery, but also because
she was given this at church on Sunday, and she said "I love to pray to Jesus, and I want to
                    show my friends that."  :)

Silver flash light - Daddy's "Intel" is the logo on this flashlight and she is oh' so very proud of where
her Daddy works, and she wanted to show that!

Books - she loves to read and wanted to put a book in the bag, which wasn't going to work, so we
found a small board book to share.

Pizza - she loves to eat pizza but this pizza is from her "play kitchen" which she loves to play.

Ashley was super creative on all her items and she truly thinks of all this on her own, she is soooo cute! :)

August 2012

We love daddy's work and all the fun things we as a family get to do for "FREE", because Intel loves their employees and their families!  Today was free admission to our Arizona Science Center and our first time taking Ashley!

We met up with the Brown family (TJ, Tesha, and Madeline or "Mimi" as Ash has always called her). The girls (as usual) had an absolute blast!  It has been so fun watching these girls grow up and become 4 yr olds both headed to preschool next week! :)  The girls are 5 months apart and we've been friends with TJ and Tesha for many, many years, and had a wonderful time going through our pregnancies together.  Now for the girls to be such great friends and confident to try new things because they have one another by their side is such a blessing! :)

First day of Preschool

How can my baby being ready for preschool?!  Oh' but she is, and we are all super excited!  I was worried about leaving her and trying to figure out what exactly I could do to keep myself busy in the car the first few days. . .and no need to worry mommy, the church/school offers a "Boo Hoo Breakfast" for the parents the first week of school!  This was a blessing, and luckily I wasn't alone in not wanting to leave the premises!

Our baby has grown into a beautiful, smart, sweet, loving, faith filled little girl and we couldn't be more proud!  We are truly blessed and can't believe we've had her in our lives for almost 4 years now!

Ashley attends preschool on our church campus in Gilbert.  Our church has an amazing preschool and grade school and we are so thankful to be on campus which is safe and familiar for her.  She wasn't nervous at all because she has been able to see and get to know her teacher "Mrs. Barb" around church prior to us starting preschool! Her preschool is 2 days a week for 2.5 hours a day, which is the perfect amount of time away for both of us! :)

Her first week of school was planned perfectly. . .they started on Tuesday, but only had 1/2 the students come for 1 hr and the other 1/2 of the kiddos for the 2nd 1hr.  So it didn't overwhelm them with all 14 kiddos and the 2.5 hours on the first two days of school.
